The last judo classes of 2018 will be on Friday 7th December, but we will be back on the mat again on Friday 4th January 2019.
The club has had another great year with success in both gradings and competitions. All the coaches have seen amazing progress in all our students and are proud of everything our students have achieved so far. From all the coaches at Kyu Kitso Judo club (David, Kevin & Colin), we would like to thank everyone who has supported the club from the parents to the students. This year I would like to particularly thank a few individuals for their assistance over the year: Shoaib Islam – Shoaib is one of our Juniors who trains with the seniors. Shoaib comes down early to the primary session to help collect the session and licence money and deal with any new starters we have. Rubina Islam – Mum to both Shoaib and Ayman. Rubina takes over from Shoaib at the table to collect money for the Juniors and again deal with new starters. She also makes sure that books balance at the end of the night making my life much easier the next day for when I do the banking. Raza, Robert and Abid – These three have been the core of our senior session for a long time and though we are lucky that our club has 3 coaches there are time when we can’t all be at the club and there might only be one coach on the mat in which case one or more of these 3 will come down early and an assit on the mat. Finally....We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!

The last judo classes of 2017 will be on Friday 15th December, but we will be back on the mat again on Friday 5th January 2018.
This year has seen the club grow, which has meant that even though our hall hire costs went up by 44% at the beginning of May we have easily been able to soak up the extra cost with all the new members we have coming to the club, which is why we have been able to keep our mat fees at £3 per session. We are hoping that the club will grow further in 2018 and we will achieve further competition success. From all the coaches at Kyu Kitso Judo club, we would like to thank everyone who has supported the club from the parents to the students. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!! Every year Kyu Kitso Judo Club hosts a club friendly competition with Hecra Judo Club.
This year the competition was bigger than ever with 52 competitors, 11 from Hecra Judo Club and 41 from Kyu Kitso. There was a great show of Judo and all the competitors fought with great determination and skill. Thanks again to Danny McIntosh for bringing his club along and also for refereeing on one of the mats. Kyu Kitso medal tally for the evening was: 11 Golds, 12 Silvers and 18 Bronzes. |
